The National Estonian Youth Association, (NEYA) is an organization that focuses on bringing Estonian values, traditions, and customs to teenagers and young adults of Estonian descent. Because our organization is national, we have members all across the US. We are governed by an executive council, which consists of seven members, who meet twice a month for executive council meetings. Our members are between the ages of 15 and 25. Within the year 2007, the NEYA plans to hold several functions. Within our plans, we would like to hold a youth dance, a variety of entertainment activities, and general knowledge of Estonian youth culture of today.

We thank the Lakewood Estonian Association, Inc. for the support given to the NEYA. Upon increasing membership to the NEYA, we ask the Lakewood Estonian Association, Inc. for financial support and for the general support of the NEYA.

It is not understood as to why a centralized Estonian American youth association was never established earlier. Unlike the rest of our Baltic friends, the Estonian American community is presently lacking strong youth roots. The NEYA is the answer and the solution to our problem that our Baltic friends do not have. Hopefully with the support of the Lakewood Estonian Association, Inc. and the other members of the Estonian- American community, the NEYA will be the centralized youth group for Estonian- Americans.

Our mission is to unite, support and maintain Estonian youth in the United States. NEYA actively motivates and supports our members to achieve their academic, cultural and professional goals.
